An HDMI extender requires a 4-core Ethernet cable.
When using an HDMI extender with a single Ethernet cable on a powered-on monitor, the LED will stop flashing if the signal is successfully read; it will continue flashing if the signal is not successfully read. After successful reading, disconnect the transmitter and power off.
For short distances, you can run a direct cable as mentioned above. However, for longer distances, it's recommended to use an extender, otherwise the signal may be weak, as the extender's purpose is to amplify the signal. We use a straight-through cable when connecting the extender, and the effect is acceptable.
